BIOGRAPHY
Elene Akhvlediani (1898–1975) was a Georgian painter, graphic artist, and set designer, celebrated as a pioneer of urban landscapes in Georgian modernism.
Educated in Tbilisi and at the Académie Colarossi in Paris, she became renowned for capturing the soul and architectural heritage of historic Georgian towns.
Akhvlediani’s diverse oeuvre spans masterful cityscapes featuring distinctive wooden balconies, rustic landscapes, and iconic set designs for leading theaters.
Alongside her artistic practice, her lifelong commitment to heritage preservation and cultural education seals her legacy as a monumental 20th-century figure.
