George Chankotadze

BIOGRAPHY

Giorgi Chankotadze is a prominent Georgian sculptor and monumental artist known for his expressive public monuments, commemorative busts, and contemporary structural installations.

He pursued his artistic training at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, earning both his Bachelor’s degree and completing postgraduate studies under the guidance of the legendary master, Professor Merab Berdzenishvili.

Chankotadze’s extensive practice spans critical public commissions across Georgia, including prominent historical bas-reliefs and state monuments.

Alongside a rich international exhibition history that includes high-profile showcases at the Lincoln Center and the U.S. Congress, he has also dedicated his career to arts education, serving for several years as the Head of the Art Studio at the International Cultural Center "Muza".
